Sorry for the late reply on this one. I got Kore 2 and have been getting to grips with it.
Anyway , I tried all the suggestions and nothing worked, so it looks like I will have to do without my old Akai samples for now. I tried opening them in Logic, Halion 3 and Kontakt 3 without any luck.

before you give up for good look at the bottom....is it possible that this may work for you?
