QUOTE (abdul6 @ Sep 20 2004, 09:08) ...le compositeur a l'impression de mixer et l'ingé de composer en mixant. Heu...

Pour ceux qu'aiment le bon gros hard-bop bien ouvert, les deux lives de Greg Osby "Banned in New York" et "Public" (enfin j'ai pas encore écouté public) (Perhaps unknown to many listeners, Osby's first live album, Banned in New York was an intentional lo-fiâ effort that was recorded direct to a budget Mini Disc recorder, placed on a table directly in front of the bandstand. "I am quite fond of that release," Osby smiles, "and still receive great comments about how it has inspired others." "The new recording," he continues, "was done without any artificial staging, embellishment or audio processing. The result is a truly natural sound that is unlike any live recording that I have heard or been previously been involved with. Most live recordings sound like studio projects that had club ambiance and applause added later during the mix as an afterthought. The sonic space between the audience and the band is usually very significant and the recordings sound quite forced and sometimes even fake and contrived. With this recording, I feel as though we captured exactly what took place during the performance and listeners themselves will feel a part of the total experience." "Banned in New York" en a l'air.
