Can anyone get the OS X SD-20 installer to launch? The SD-80 installer will launch but I have a SD-20?

Any help appreciated.

Hi,
I've sent a few emails to Edirol about this problem,
It seems that they have inadvertantly uploaded a Unix Executable
instead of a normal VISE type installer for the SD-20 download for OSX.

Hopefully they'll fix this problem soon.
If you want I can email you a working copy that installs with the VISE type
installer, I was emailed a pre-release copy of the SD-20 Module editor from
Edirol last week before the initial release, It's 3.2 mb.

If I had a web site, I'd upload it for people to download it.
Although I don't think that Edirol would be very happy if I did that,
Hopefully Edirol will fix the problem soon.

I can't believe that Edirol could have made such a big mistake.

That would be cool. Can you email to sd20@sagantech.com please?

Glad to help...W.P.

I hope that everything has worked out well for you and I hope that in the
meantime that Edirol updates the installer that they have in their downloads.

It's strange that the installer they have is for a UNIX syustem, When other OSX
programs that they have in their downloads works perfectly fine for OSX.

Maybe Edirol should have a UNIX section for their software as well.

I've contacted the artists @t edirol.com and the webmaster @t edirol.com in
hopes that one of them can correct the problem.

In the meantime I have found that the best way to get a problem corrected is if
everyone that needs the program complain to Edirol that it doesn't install
properly and that they want an installer that is more intuitive, Like a VISE
8.02 © Mindvision installer. (It's something that us Canadians are good
at...Complaining...But...Shhhh... it more than often works)

This isn't a call to create a riot or anything...People make mistakes,
It's just a shame that it had to happen when the program was finally released
and ready to be used by all those eagerly awaiting OSX users that bought the
SD-20 sound module and were only able to use it in OS9x.

In anycase...I'm glad that I was able to help.

I just got an email back from Edirol technical services and this is what it said:

QUOTE
The SD-20 Editor install file is a self-extracting UNIX file. It will not
self-extract in the Apple environment. We have contacted the engineers and
they are working on the problem. I don't have a timetable for this fix, but
I will put a note in my calendar to follow up and contact you within 14
days.

So it's good to know that they are aware of the problem and will hopefully
correct it as soon as possible.

I offered to send Edirol back the pre-release software that was
sent to me by the artists at edirol and was told that it would be
terrific if I could.

So I've sent back the fully functional SD-20 editor with the VISE
installer that was given to me last week by the artists at edirol.

Hopefully the correct editor software will be uploaded to the
Edirol downloads for the SD-20 sound module and people that
need a working copy will finally be able to use their sound
modules in OSX.
