Hi all:
Thanks in advance for dealing with a newbie question. I'm a sound designer, and I'm *finally* making the transisition from PC to Mac. For budgetary reasons (and because I dig ProTools), I'm looking at getting an Mbox. My question is this: Will I be able to import all of my old .WAV files into PT for the Mac? Or will I need to convert them to .AIF? If the latter, it's not a big deal, I have CleanerXL for the PC...it'd just be a pain, y'know? Granted, a one-time pain, but a pain nonetheless. Thanks again. Regards, --Anthony |

You can import them, PTLE may want to convert them to SD2. -------------------- G-Dub

In Pro Tools 6, the default format is .wav
You still have the option to record to SD2 (like in Pro Tools 5), but for cross platform compatitibility they made both the Mac and Windows use .wav, so there wouldn't be problems moving from one system to the other. |

Pro Tools on a Mac can import either Wav, AIFF or SD2 so you should be good to go.
One thing tho, certain versions of Pro Tools only work on specific versions of MAC OSX, the latest OS10.3.3 is not yet supported for PT 6.4!! PT 6.0 > 6.2 should work on OS 10.2.8 PT 6.2. > 6.3 should work on OS 10.3 PT 6.4 should work on OS 10.3.2 Hope that's not too confusing, but it is a pain if you upgrade your Apple OS uring the update software system, without checking that Digi support it - something I've just found out on my latest update!!!
