Just ordered Logic Pro 6 and a Novation K Station, now I need a Midi Interface.
What Midi Interface are you using, any good suggestions?
emagic, MOTU, Maudio?
Cheers.

how many i/o do you need.
If its just the k-station and you wanna use that for both its sounds+ as a controller
i would say go with the emagic MT4 small interface ,
its very portable if you want a audio interface to have a look at the emagic products/ or the speedio from novation looks good.
If you need more than this solution go for like the AMT-8 with logic ROCK SOLID MAN espically with logic
but hope that helps.

these are like usb, fire interfaces ,

but serial is still very reliable look into them . usb 2.0 is getting better and fire wire is starting to become a standard i think.
have fun

I use Panther... I have a M-audio midiman sport 2x2. No luck whatsoever. Waited for updates. Waited and waited... got tired of waiting, went and got me a MOTU Fastlane 2x2. Absolutly no problems. Works perfect the first time and everytime.

I'm using a Midisport 2x2 on 10.3.3 Panther with Version 3.1 of their driver, works fine for me on my iBook and G4. ...I hope you didn't throw it away.

td3k,
No, I did not throw it away. I got it several years ago to use on my iMac running OS 9, and am happy to report it still works fine on that system. I just got tired of waiting for the correct drivers... Now I have and "old school" system sitting along side the new.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, it's much appreciated.
May go for the MOTU Fast Lane or MT4 but I need extra USB ports and I just found out the emagic 6/2m as well as being an audio/midi interface is also a USB hub with 2 USB ports, which will be handy.
Will check these out & your suggestions.

Does anyone know if I could place the XSkey into the hub?
Also any idea why Applemagic havent brought out a firewire interface yet?
Everyone else seems to have, except Apple who invented Firewire what seems like years ago.
Would much prefer a Firewire interface than a USB.
Does using Firewire or USB make any difference with midi?
Cheers.

well as for that you can put it into the hub we have that running at my Taf

Also any idea why Applemagic havent brought out a firewire interface yet?

Yeah i was hopin Emagic would bring out a firewire interface which would rock and i would diffently get it over other interfaces. but i think it may be in the making haven't heard anything yet?
see Apple having been working with Yamaha on mlan. like intergrating mlan into Core audio and Core midi
It looks good. and a lot more simple no messy cables, But they don't have 24/192 Ad/da Converters Yet
stupid yamaha there good but they need to get a move on .

Does using Firewire or USB make any difference with midi?

well i tend to stick a way from usb straight from ya keyboard theres problems with that.
but getting a usb or a firewire interface shouldn't matter
usb 2.0 is faster
than firewire 400
i don't know bout 800 yet i will have to check that out .
But if you get like the MT4 Man and run with logic and a hub should work like Bangers and mash
FIre wire looks way beta out of the 2 for sure

good luck

I have a - Motu Midi Timepiece AV Usb - "MTP AV Usb" .
I's rocksteady for me, basically - set it and forget it.
I can heartily recommend it.
