Logic 6
Professional Music Creation and Audio Production

by Martin Sitter and Robert Brock

I just picked it up and it looks pretty good.

Scitscat is right. I've been working with this book for a couple of months and it is excellent. It gives you step-by-step lessons with examples and is the kind of instruction I needed for Logic 6 on OSX. When I first started out, I found the factory manual to be sooo confusing - even totally frustrating. This book got me going.

rawa,

Two books that I can recommend for getting into Logic are:

'Making Music with emagic Logic Audio' by Stephen Bennett.

'Get Creative with EMAGIC LOGIC' by Keith Gemmell

The Keith Gemmell book is completely tutorial in nature and takes you through using Logic for a variety of different jobs. Complete with CD and tutorial tracks.

I thoroughly enjoyed both.

Good luck

I know this probably is not the answer you are looking for but I found the supplied manual a valuable source of information for mastering logic. I have to admit it took me more than 3 years to fully find my way around in Logic but learning by doing really gets you to a level no book can lead you to. The way I use the supplied manual is that if I want to do something I check out the manual to see if there is a feature for what I want to do and usually there is. If you spend an hour or two a day just "playing" around with logic you will soon find that Logic is not that complex after all. A good start to find out about the features in logic is the key shortcuts list (make sure you always put shortcuts where you want them to, not where logic has set them up for you). The power of Logic lies in its extensive customizability. Good Luck!
