I'm a Sonar user who is about to drop some serious change on the G5. I know that Twelve Tone doesn't make Sonar for the Mac, so I've been doing research on two platforms that come close to what I need in my facility. DP 4 and Logic... My friend is running Logic 6 and I like it... But I'm also tripping out on the DP 4's interface. Here's my question.
Logic has soft synths... Does DP4? I know they have the Mach Five sampler, but that's for loading and manipulating samples. I'm talking more like Logic's EV88 or something like it... Thanks for reading. Chaz Network page |

MOTU have the mx4 which I believe is quite good from what I've heard. However, as DP4 supports both MAS and AU instruments you should have a wide choice of virtual instruments from many companies. You may even (if you really need it) want to investigate a VSTi-AU wrapper so you can use some Steinberg VSTi's. As DP4 now supports AU you may even be able to use some of the soft-synths from Logic in DP4.
Hope that helps. |
