So I got the Logic "BIg Box" and am confused about the included Xtreme Analog CD for the EXSP24.

I'm assuming I can place the sound files alongside the ones already installed, but I cannot seem to get the plug to recognize them. I can't use the included installer on this CD because it's formatted for OS 9.

Also, by default, Logic created a folder for the other EXSP24 files in the user/shared/path which I find odd.

I'm waiting for my registration to go three (on Monday?) but though I would ask here first before contacted emagic. Thanks.

Identical situation here... I installed the files manually, placing the samples in the exsp24Samples directory in the Shared folder, the and sound files in the exspFactorySoundset directory.

They are now accesible from with Logic (you must select the black pop-up window on the exsp24 GUI, not the little drop down arrow...

However, I installed the preset plug ins in the emagic > Plugi Settings > exsp24 folder. In Logic, those presets now appear in the synch triangle dropdown, but choosing one causes logic to crash.

If I drop the same presets into the exs24 plugin settings folder (running the demo for it), I can choose the preset in the synths triangle pop-up menu, but selecting a voice results in no boivce change (the parameters DO change), and a message in the black window that says MISSING: Basic Synth. or whatever voice the preset was looking for.

I guess something's in the wrong place for the presets, but I can get the voices themselves to load as described above...

Hi,
I believe you need to do the following to be able to use those sounds and any others in your exsp

1.) install the actual samples into your Logic Folder Directory>EXSamples
2.) Install the files ending in .exs into
Logic Folder>Sampler Instruments

Hope that helps.
