Hi, I'm new here...thought I drop a note and tell you all what a great board this is, glad I found it and glad to be here.
I thought as my second post, I would start some controversy by asking this question: Which is the best soft in your opinions? Logic, Digital performer or Nuendo? I ask because I'm a protools user on 001 with protools LE 6.1.2 and I've decided, that since this hardware is to be dropped from digi "official" support, I would take this opportunity to get off of the didigesign money train before I lose my mind and follow a "forced" upgrade to digi 002 or even worse, a mix or HD unit. I have a small non-commercial composition studio with lots 'o outboard gear, mikes, keys and guitars as well as a pc full of softsynths. My primary app is protools, everything is synced to my G4. It appears that if I want to go to panther, or eventually a G5, I'll need to dump the '001. It's not even a year old yet. oh, well.... PS I love protools, but I feel that I'm getting sucked into the marketing hype and don't have the cash to give away freely to a company that is at the very least NOT customer friendy. Thanks for your opinions and I hope this don't start a war... |

As an old Vision user I prefer Digital performer.
About the only thing in it that isn't too hot is the note-scoring part. For everything else it's a great piece of software. Cheers: Dixiechicken -------------------- ==================

I've been using Cubase SX and I'm very pleased with it as a sequencer and audio recorder. I've even done complete Cd projects for people in it. It's very intuitive, so there's not alot of manual reading required. Essentially, it's Nuendo lite.

If you got a small studio with "lots" of outboard gear, Motu makes a very decent firewire interface Motu-828 MK-II.
Lots of inputs outputs both analog & digital, you can have 4 discreet separate stereomixes assigned to different buses/outs. It can also work as standalone mixer/DA-converter. Read about it at: http://www.motu.com/-->Products-->Audio Hardware Cheers: Dixiechicken -------------------- ==================

I use Logic, Motu 828 in OS X
In OS 9: Logic, 828,Emagic Audiowerks, and sometimes Digidesign's 882/20 & 882 TDM stuff The Digi D. is not compatable with my dual 1ghz. The fix they put out is not stable and turning off one processor, as they suggest does not work always either. I hear they newer DD's have the same problem. I find more virtual instruments vs DD. DD loses I like to try Motu 24 input interface with my 828. Will the core address 2 Motu's. I could get rid of my Mackie 38.8 |
