I have a Boss Dr. Rythym that i am using as a midi controller for redrum in MIDI to use with pro tools. My dr. rythym has 16 pads, and i use them all, but Redrum only has 10 sounds.

how do i make it so i can have 16 sounds to edit and use for Reason..the logical answer would be to use 2 redrum devices, but i dont know how to set it up so i can use it.

PLEASE HELP, thank you in advance

umm are you linking Pro Tools with Reason so audio feeds directly into PT? just curiose as you said you using redrum with ProTools which was confusing at first

normally, to use 2 redrum devices... you just create 2 redrum modules and each should have stereo output going to a seperate fader unless you like each hit going to its own fader

no no no..i need help with getting 16 drum sounds to work on reason's redrum. Since there are only 10 drum sounds on a rack, i have to figure a way to sync up 2 redrum modules to midi so if i am playing a drum kit, all the sounds are available without having to change anything on the fly.?? its gotta be possible because the standard drum controller is about 16 pads!! well obviously you cant program 16 hits into redrum because redrum only supports 10..as for 'sync'ing two modules. i dunno. try messing around with the rack, but i seriously doubt it.

the pro tools part is irrelevant. I just need to know how people use a 16 pad midi controller with reason because redrum is only 10 sounds...theres gotta be a way to link them or something..all drum conrollers are from 12-16 pads like Akai and Roland and Boss, so theres gotta be some way..if anybody knows PPLEEEAAASE speak up smile.gif
