I have a brand new Imac G4 running OSX and a Yamaha Motif 6 workstation. It connects to my computer via USB, but I have no idea how to set it up to work with my Mac. I have tried messing with the Audio Midi program but have not installed the device properly, and it does not detect the device. Please give me any advice if you know how to set up a midi device on a new Mac. Thanks.

Your Yamaha Motif 6 will not show up in Audio/Midi setup until you
have manage to somehow install a usb-driver or patch-lists/module decriptions files for
the Yamanha Motif synth.

These files was in my example installed by Motu:s Digatal Performer 4, while I installed the program
on my new iMac flatpanel.

The files reside on your harddrive in one of two possible places:

Alternative A)
/Library/Audio/MIDI Devices/MOTU ( for me )
yours should be
/Library/Audio/MIDI Devices/YAMAHA

Alternative B)
Or possibly in
/Users/mwiberg/Library/Audio/..... ???
Your might then be
/Users/your username/Library/Audio ???

Altenative A is the better alternative/bet, but some programs installers use alternative B.
You must have these files for things to work. Try to get an installer/driver fromYamaha for
your Motif 6.
