Hello
I´m looking for a really portable studio, with 24 tracks record and mixing at 24 bits;with editing and mastering real ones;with no troubles or hang-on times. I´m thinking in a new iBook(G3600,256mB,30gB,CD-RW)with the Motu828(firewire,8 inputs,Audiodesk software):it´s a real solution?;or the real thing is the Powerbook G4?;or it´s better to wait for the next digi002?;or maybe it´s more than enough? Sorry for my englih,I´m a spanish doubter musician... Thanks -------------------- rauli

With my MOTU 828 and my PowerBook G4/500 I was able to play sixteen 24-bit tracks at once from the internal drive without a hitch. I'm guessing that the iBook will be able to do the same without any problems.
I'll try to load up 24 tracks to see how it does. I'm sure it will work fine. Of course, once you start throwing in VST plug-ins I'm sure it will start to choke. -finrock |

I just purchased a 828 and the new ibook 14' screen CDRW, along with Cubase 5 VST/32 , MOTU Midiexpress USB, and a glyph m project hard drive, I have been able to get up to 32 tracks for audio so far, I havent tryed to tack it to its limits yet
