I used to connect my old 828 MKII firewire interface to my Macbook Pro using...um...firewire. But I just got a new iMac that does not have any FW ports. It has 4 USB3 ports and 2 thunderbolt ports.
How do I connect my 828 to it? *Can* I connect that interface to my iMac? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jeff |

It looks like I just need to buy a FW to Thunderbolt adapter ($30). Can anyone confirm that it works as advertised?
Thanks. |

based on my experience with the 828 and adapters, i'm skeptical. but it's a $30 bet to make, with fingers crossed, unless you get some definitive info from somewhere. this might be one of those times a call to MOTU tech support is justified.
