I am having difficulty getting my Roland VS840EX to sync up with Pro Tools Free. I have tried everything suggested in the online manual, and I'm wondering if there is something I'm overlooking. Can anyone help? I am using a MOTU Fastlane midi interface.....

when you say "sync up" do mean PT is not getting any midi information? if so, do you have OMS installed and correctly setup so it recognizes the Roland? This must happen first or PT will not see the midi data. Then you must select the midi port in the midi track in the mix window. Hope that helps

Thanks for your reply. I do have OMS installed and it seems to recognise the Roland, but when I use the Roland as the master and PT slaved to it, PT doesn't seem to pick up any MTC or things like song position information etc. However, when I use the same setup scenario with Cubase, it works fine, so I don't think there is a problem with OMS or the midi interface.
