Hello,
I am currently working on my home studio. Let me list what I will be using. - Powerbook G4, 1.5GHz, 1.5G RAM - Remote SL25 - M-Audio Trigger Finger - Hercules DJ controller MK1 - Two Technics 1200 - Gemini Preamp Mixer - Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Theater 2200 (yes, I know) So, currently I am using the Hercules as my soundcard. I am baffled by all the sound input modules available. Here's what I want to do: - Dj on the decks and be able to record into the Powerbook - Use Ableton Live - Use Traktor 3 to DJ and use the midi controllers to control. (I would like to use the decks to control Traktor sometime in the future, when the cost comes down!) - Use a Microphone to record vocals etc into Ableton Live. So I think I need a soundcard that has inputs for microphone and to record from the decks. I know I also need to upgrade my amlifier and speaker system. Any advice appreciated. Mole |

If your internal drive is not 7200rpm and you want to stream audio you'll need an external fire wire drive that is 7200rpm

Minskybabs,
although you want to rid your mixer, I would recommend that you dont or get a smaller mixer. I use a Motu 24 I/O. I bought it with the idea of not using a mixer and ended up buying one anyway because of not being able to eque my keyboards and etc. I tried to deal without it but at some point I realized how important it was to have one. |

Using the Motu 24 I/O, can you record up to the 24 tracks simultaneously? I have considered getting one, but had not known of anyone personally that had one. I want to have a set-up that will at least do 12 to 16 tracks at the same time. Thanks! Allen |
