sometimes I use hyperdraw on regions then also use track automation(yellow line on track in arrange window) on the same track. Questiion: How do the two interact and how should I handle this aspect of volume control? I use volumn automation with these methods.. have tried a fader assigned to it through midi control (yamaha promix 1), but actually prefer tweaking with these arrange window lines. I just need to sort out how they interact and if I should just use one or the other..
advice? |

Hyperedit automation is region based automation, it will always be associated to a specific region, and will overide track automation.
Track based automation works best on full tracks of course. Hyper edit if you want to cut up the track, and rearrange the regions. I also noticed that moving a region with track automation, gives different results than moving a hyperedit region. -------------------- G-Dub

G,
in my further science experiments with hyperdraw... the manual says.. view/hyperdraw/disable. In fact the menu says view/hyperdraw/off. (this is with the region selected) Which in my book means.. the same thing.. unfortunately it doesn't turn off hyperdraw volume when the song hits that part of the region in scroll.. and the volumn goes where ever it is set in hyperdraw.. this is with and without track automation set to on or not in the arrange window.. must be a bug or verbage problem.. Since I frequently divide files into many regions to compensate for my bad timing.. I end up with pieces and many regions.. I don't plan on using hyperdraw in region mode anymore because it is too confusing and would just like to use standard track automation but hence the problem.. how to disable hyperdraw. Thanks for your comments before.. but I still have this problem.. Logic 7.1.1, G5 dual 2.0.. thanks. |

You have to go in and delete the nodes, or drag and drop the same audio region from the audio page.
No it's not a bug it work the way it was intended to. Hyperedit can only be displayed on one track or region at a time. It's just if you turn the display off, you risk creating automation that will be overridden. I only use it if I'm using several instances of a region and that the automation effects the actual performance of the part played. otherwise I use track automation, so I can view the automation of several tracks. -------------------- G-Dub
