I am sorry if this has been answered before, I have tried the search function but it didn't really get me anywhere
Logic 7 and MIDI I see that logic is 'getting' the midi signal and it shows me the note in a window by the transport control. However, I guess I need to asign it to a sound, or something like that. I tried to guess for an hour and gave up! Can someone put me out of my misery or suggest where I should look? Also, what is a good book for Logic for a noob? Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a very dull question. Damian |

If you want a virtual instrument, you will have to use an instrument track.
The default enviornment includes a setup for GM instruments, those tracks are intended to drive external midi devices. Three types of tracks in Logic , Midi, audio, and instrument. To reveal all availble tracks engage the global button on the track mixer. double click on the the desired track to make it appear on the arrange page. -------------------- G-Dub
