hi there,

wondering if recording music straight into a G4 powerbook can cause it damage if too loud?

i am new to all this so know nothing. I do know that my powerbook has no mic port so I guess I need to buy some sort of mic adaptor with USB or firewire port. Would this be correct?

basically all I want to do is get some of my songs and guitar onto the computer so I can muck around with it but I am having a hard time working out where to start.

thanks!

Hi joesdad,

of course is the music you record on your powerbook digital and if you play it louder then 0 dz the signal will be destroyed --> never overload, a computer is not a amplifier. Second, you will need a interface to play and record your guitar with the powerbook maybe? Are you working with garage?
