Im taking my yamaha 01v96 and my mlan card back to the place where I got them from bcoz the mixer seems to have stopped working.Ive only had the mixer and the card a matter of a few weeks and may friend got the same mixer and card and his broke within a matter of a couple of days!.Im glad they are willing to accept this back and swap it for something that is reliable and i know will last me a good while(hopefully for as long as I want).Whats the best other audio interface i can get?.

Im looking at the MOTU 896 HD http://www.turnkey.co.uk/tkweb/stockdetail...6HD&context=WEB

Ill mainly be using it to send audio from cubase to the motu then back from the motu to an audio track so i can record stuff straight into cubase to save rendering stuff all the time. Can I do this with this unit by itself or will I need a soundcard aswell and link them together via adat to do this?.Ill also be recording a couple of external synths aswell with this. What are the pre-amps like?.

motu 828mk2 http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/828...emixdsp.html/en

will this do everything I want it to?.Its also the cheaper option.

I dont really care about the fx on the mixer I never used them.Im just gonna make up the rest of the money I payed for the mixer and the mlan by investing in a couple of uad cards to sit alongside with my powercore firewire.

can i plz have some opinions on this plz?

thanx in advance.

I myself have been contemplating over the three and such. I have a question on the 828mkII, does the unit itself do most of the processing power, or does the CPU do the processing power?

Im allmost certian that I read somewhere that the unit does the processing power so your cpu in not affected.
