Got a similar issue where in any situation (not just offline bounce or freeze) during project
when processor loads increase one processor get the full load whereas the other one takes a nap...Very frustrating since when one processor starts maxing out the system cracks up.... So I'm also trying to figure out the reason for this 'malfunction' One thing that comes to mind is that individual tracks can't share plugins with the other processor so the signal path has to remain on one processor (which makes sence but not sure if this is the case though, I'm not a developer <<--- Does it really say Newbie?!? well i have the same problem sometimes that you are having. if i double click in the transport in the next to the last block it opens a dialog that lets you reorganize memory. this will wake up the other processor during a session to share the load, but i am really wondering why only on cpu when offline bouncing. am i really a senior? |

Obviously you are, cheers mate!
No difference in load sharing after reorganise though! I'm using a G4 MDD 2x1.25, should that matter? |

hmm. I don't know.
I have had 4 G5's from Apple. This is my latest one. It seems that they all have some kinda quirk in them. most of them have been power issues. either whinny cpu's or audio buzzing. i have had a time with them. this last one has a cpu v.3.0 in the system profiler. it seems to run a lot better. the bounces sound good, and are fairly quick. i was just really curious. the reorganize memory helps wake up the other cpu if i leave the session for a long time. i stay on my powerbook mainly cutting up samples. my wife stays on the G5 mostly. so when i go into work i have to reorganize the memory, or logic acts really sluggish. we use multiple accounts with fast user swithching. per lep i switched my avatar. i was to lazy for the longest to fix it. this is my moillie. she is really cool and the studio gaurd dog. |
