This may sound like a stupid question to the experianced among you but I was wpndering whagt pro-tools are, I have come across the name a number of times and I cant understand what everyone else is talking about. Please hlpe me.

Generally foks that are referring to Pro Tools are talking about an audio / midi (sometimes) sequencing program.. Some folkes would even agree that Pro Tools is a line of products that work very well together, but not so much with other software / hardwares from other producers of like products.
