I have not been able to get MIDI through an Audiophile 2496 on my G4 running 9.2.2 with Cubase 5.1 or Reason.

I've browsed this forum and seen numerous problems with this set-up. Is there some trick (extension conflict or OMS setting) that I'm missing, or should I just go for MIDI via USB?

My setup: G4 Dual 1GHz w/ OSX Panther & 9.2.2 (on separate drives), M_Audio Delta Audiophile 2496, Yamaha PSR225 keyboard.

Thanks,

Todd

Hi,

have you investigated the PSR225 MIDI fonctions?
These type of keabords are ment to be used as standalone.
Maybe the midi out is not activated?

Yes, I've set up the PSR225 for Keyboard out "ON" and Local "off", the same as it was when it was hooked up via serial on my old beige G3.

I picked up a USB Midisport 1x1 to try that and it half worked:

G4 to Midisport to PSR225 - OK
PSR225 to Midisport - no signal

I am wondering if there is some extension conflict or a specific order that I need to go in as far as OMS setup and connecting my components that I am unaware of.

Well I have had some feedback about that but not enough to have a real opinion about these m-audio drivers.
I would hate to have a G5 and being stuck in os 9 because of one lousy driver...

Can anyone write a serious review about these m-audio audiophile drivers?

I would publish it and make sure it goes right up Google.
That would certainly get m-audio move their ass wink.gif

I am using OS9 because I have Cubase 5.1

I have also tried the Delta 2496 in OSX with no luck.

Interestingly, I set up my Yamaha PSR225 keyboard to "Local Off" and once it is hooked up to the Delta, it goes back to "On" and I can't switch it back off.

PS: In the 2496 manual, it says something like 'locate the Delta 2496 OMS driver on the driver disk and drag it to your OMS folder."

Guess what?

No Delta 2496 OMS driver on the disk, nothing close to it...

nothing at their site,

no response yet from tech support.

i'm interested in buying a cheap audio card .. so i searched all over the web for info on M-Audio products ...

It's really really hard to find info or feedback on those things .. i believe that mac users are rich enought to only care about Digi/Motu/Rme/etc ... products

A real shame ... M-Audio PC drivers are better than Mac .. sad.gif sad.gif
