Hello, everyone. I have some problems setting my PB G4 to run DP3.
Here is the list of my hardware and software:
PB G4 800MHz, 1GB RAM, 40 GB Hard disk, MOTU USB MIDI micro express, MOTU 828, DP3.02, Audio Disk 1.02, PT Free, Reason, Recycle, NI stuff, C sound, Peak, Toast 5.02, Nuendo, Logic P4. (Installed DP3, and Free MIDI only for now)

Here are the problems:
DP3 quits by itself and says, "type 2 error", "type 3 error", "Finder, unexpectedly quit ", "MOTU Firewre Audio is used by other appl."
The computer freezes when I record an audio or a midi track.
What I have done so far:
Disk cache down to 2048K
Virtual memory is off
Energy saver setting to Never
In the Extension manager, turned off the airport, speech
Installed the latest Motu Firewire Audio System.

If you know anything about the software conflict, and the memory conflict on OS 9.22. Please reply and give me your knowledge.
Thanks.

a "type2" error suggests not enough memory allocated to dp3.
otherwise, a software/driver version conflict?
also, the cache should be brought way lower than that setting, smallest is best here. huh.gif
keep up the communication here, which system and which non-music software are you using? angry.gif
