Hi Folks,

I am having problems installing OMS on my new G4 computer with a USB MIDI Express XT from MOTU.

The MOTU installer places Free MIDI on the system and the USB driver for the Xpress XT. I then choose to run OMS (Which I believe I need for Cubase VST5 to work).

So then, I run the OMS 3.8 setup program, it find the USB Xpress XT and when I click on "OK" to do a MIDI device scan, the computer freezes. Every time. I am at my wit's end.

I have tried every setting I know how, including unplugging all my MIDI devices from the back of Xpress XT.

THE MAC IS A WIND TUNNEL G4 1.25GHZ WITH 1GB MEMORY.

Please, if you have any insight into this problem, I would be very grateful. Otherwise, I shall have to switch back to a Serial port version, which is a shame.

Many thanks, in anticipation.

Cheers for now,
TwoSheds
