Is it safe to plug the Behringer Mic200 pre amp straight into the audio plug on my Powerbook? Will the audio plug tolerate recording straight into it with mics and guitars through the pre amp?

NNOOOOOooooooo no no no no no no no no no no no no ........

Not a good idea using a pre-amp with the mic input...
And it's not necessarily that it "won't" work...
But, one wrong setting one time - One move and you'll fry that little input faster than the egg on the super heating stove...

It's best to put the pre-amp into an inexpensive mixer and run the sub-outputs into the mic input... While this is still not the best - I recorded this way with some of the first iMacs until moved up to better equipment...

Hope this helps...
