Logic Express 8 Midi Files

Hello all, I am using an Akai EWI4000 to control Wallander woodwinds in Logic Express 8. The MIDI files when I try to play them back are missing notes and have some new ones, very frustrating. The AkaiEWI sends 10 cc#'s- is it possible that coreMIDI drivers are being swamped by the amount of info and then can't play it back because they where "corrupted" when I made them? Simple keyboard MIDI files work-it's the wind controller MIDI files that don't function well-any ideas about it before I start turning off expressive capabilities?
I record the Line Out too, and it is very good-if the projects where not dependant on being able to change the Project tuning Pararmeters I could just use audio files. If one of you kind people know about MIDI would you please tell me if I'm right about the amount of data[continuous controllers] messing up the Midi files?

Akai Wind Controller Ewi4000

hello all, I am looking for help in using an Akai EWI4000 wind controller to keep the sampled sounds of the Wallander WIVI woodwinds from turning into Synth lead sounds in Logic EXpress 8. Have any of you tried this set up?

I have the same problem in Logic EXpress 8 with the samples in the EXS changing the timbre of the samples when using the Akai EWI4000-the Vyzex software has a very good editor but I'm not able yet to configure it to play the EXS samples without drastic changes in the timbre of the sampled instruments.

I would be very grateful for any thoughts on the subject.

Audio Comps

The manual, and the David Lahmani book say the pointer tool, by click-dragging is used in Arrange to select the area in an audio file to be comped. it doesn't work in my LE 8.0.2-the region just moves left or right when click-dragged with the pointer [that is the arrow-right?] has any one seen this before, does any one have a work around other than split into regions and copy/paste? any help will be much appreciated.

Firewire Audio Interface Not Recording Digital Audio

I have been trying to record the Line Out from an Akai EWI4000 breath controller. The signal is weaker than the headphone Out mini-1'8" . Even with the patches volume at highest level -30- there is barely anything. I am using a Behringer FCA202, they claim the driver for Mac is Core Audio and I can adjust the bit depth and sample rate in the Audio/MIDI set up. The Behringer has a a/d converter and I wonder if the Firewire protocols on my ancient Mini PPC are even seeing the incoming digital audio. I use a USB mic and it works fine.
I saw something on the Apple site about possible incompatibility of the old Firewire protocol and a new set called SDK24-anyone else recording digital audio through a Firewire powered hub? The La cie FW HD boots and performs quite well, although i did get an error"-2" a few times. the Midi connection works as I do get a track of Midi data. I have tried it in an aggregate device and by choosing the behringer's digital audio output manually but nada. A better audio/Midi interface would be better but if the PPC G4 1.5ghz can't handle Firewire i might as well forget about FW and try to find a USB interface.
Please, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Akai Ewi4000s

I have recently been presented with an Akai EWI [electronic wind instrument ] 4000s and am trying to configure it to control the Jam Pack4Symphony Orchestra. I have an Environment set up that is working-except that I had to disable all the continuous controllers in the EWI because they where seriously distorting the Violins; so basically I'm waiting for the Pros to get some experience with this relatively new way of controlling and hoping they will take pity on poor noobs like me and maybe explain the bits about using the 10 Modulators in the EXS and assigning them to give the best performance from the EWI.

I do use track Automation sometimes and there I found that the Modulators can be individually configured-but without having to go so deep into the Track Automation would save valuable time so where does one access the Modulators? I have RTFM's, got the Book, got the videos, t-shirt too-but still would like to get this new controller working as it would save hours [DAYS] if all the velocity, volume, note on/off, expression [ finetuning of velocity plus volume], I hope. I am also confused by the Midi cc's- i have them set to all channels but is that the optimum setting for them is? An Akai developer's mind is what i would like present these queries.

i don't know if it's 'bon ton' to ask this here but has anyone interested in classical styles checked out the Intro to Mozart's grand Partita used as an audio example at www.Wallanderinstruments.com ? That's the kind of control i would hope to achieve and all help is greatly appreciated.
