Hello,

I have done a search for this already and haven't got a clear answer. I'm getting heavily back into turn of the century IDM. Go Plastic by Squarepusher is blowing my mind...especially the track Greenways Trajectory. The music still sounds modern and from the future.

How on earth would you do this sort of drum programming? What I've found online is that:

*** The IDM(Aphex/Autechre/Sqpush) guys keep their technique secret and may even be lying about things to add mystery to what they do

*** They have spent years developing their style.

*** They may or may not write their own code for algorithm/software/plug ins

I just want to know how you can develop these fantastic beats!

Hi,

I'm using MAC OS 10.4.8 , Logic Express , M-AUDIO 1X1, and a Moog Voyager. I can't seem to find this out in the Logic online manual.

I can send Midi(and audio) information into Logic and play virtual instruments from the Voyager into Logic but I cannot get the sequences back to sequence the Voyager.

I think this has something to do with the section in the channel strip that has OFF/READ/LATCH etc... also the MIDI information is set up as a INSTRUMENT track. The audio from the Voyager is a AUDIO track. Correct?

I do have the Voyager/Logic set for correct Midi channels and on.

I can get the voyager to recieve Midi info in other software like MMV Editor.

Thanks for any information!

Hello,

I'm using Logic LE and trying to sync a MOTM Modular synth with it. I do NOT have a Midi to CV/Gate converter.

I'm making drum beats on the MOTM using pink noise to a filter driven by a Binary Zone sequencer that has gate out(to my EG). From there the audio goes to a VCA to the audio in on my Mac.

How do I set the Logic tempo to sync to the speed of the Binary Zone clock? I may want to add virtual drum beats/loops in time with the modular?

Thanks in advance.
