After failing to realize my plans to buy a midi keyboard, I have been searching madly and deeply after a midi sequencer for os x. And while both Intuem and PlayerPro are cheap comparatively speaking, I need something that is cheap definitively speaking. I could not afford to spend 80 on a piece of software.
So please help this fledgling musician add some bass and drums to his meager recordings...
I have thought at some length about buying a midi keyboard, and even asked around here about which to buy, but as I was trying out Intuem the other day, I began to wonder if a midi sequencer wouldn't be enough.
What reasons are there for using midi keyboards (other than the fact that registering Intuem costs almost as much as a keyboard itself)? Is it just force of habit, or are there things I can never produce with just a sequencer?
Among all the technicians and electronic music makers here there ought to be a number of competent singers... And I know that the reply might very well be 'it has taken me 20 years to develop and there is no right way about it...', and I am painfully aware that this might be just the case. However, I am still gunning for any hints or good advice I might find.
What I'm wondering is: How do you learn to use your stomach properly when singing? And I don't except a full guide posted on this off-topic forum, but any hints, or even urls to online guides to singing, would be wonderful...
Are there any good midi keyboards [in the lower price ranges] with usb ports? The few keyboards I've found with usb midi support are all real synths, with all too real price tags...
Any particular you would care to recommend?
