Hi

I went to record my first live show with my Firebox and I couldn't get the signal from the box to the mac. I have used the mic successfully and recorded on gb but when I connect something to line in on the firebox, I get no signal.

Am I missing something in the setting that needs to be different for line in as opposed to mic?

The cables I use are from rca/phone? to these 1/4 in adapters that plug into the firebox. Is it possible this could be the source of the problem?

I contacted Presonus again since this is not my first problem with Firebox, but it is the worst problem, but they haven't been able to give me a reason why.

I am lost and have another live show coming next Friday. I have to get the Firebox working or look for a simple alternative i/o device or mixing board ready for the show.

Any ideas what is wrong?

Hi

I have an iMac G%, Garage Band, Presonus Firebox and a Microphone and am setting it up for the first time, but after doing it I cannot get the mic to record in Garage Band.

I am new to all of this, but I changed the audio in system preferences to Firebox and changed it in Garage Band as well, but I cannot get any sound coming from the mic, which is brand new as well.

I am going to have the mic checked, but am wondering if I have missed something basic. The Firebox came with Cubase LE which would have showed me how to test the system, but unfortunately Cubase would not install because of some error, so I couldn't check it that way.

The iMac recognized Firebox and the lights go to blue correctly, although if I push the button on the front of Firebox, the blue light disappears and I have to unplug the firewire and plug it in again to get the blue light on again.

Any suggestions as to what I should check in Firebox or Garage Band that I may be missing.

In the Firebox manual it states to right click on the Control Panel icon to change some settings, but right clicking does nothing. Is that for PC?

Thanks

I have Garage Band and want to record vocals over a rythm, which is basically the music recorded and mixed onto CD. I will be mixing the vocals with the rhythm track after recording the vocals. The rythm is

Can the rhythm track be imported into Garage band then played back through the headphones of the vocalist as he records the vocals, using Garage Band software?

Thanks

I have on DVD, recodings of live shows I have put on and want to import the DVD to my new iMac, which I just got a couple of days ago.

The only software I have so far is what comes with the new iMacs.

Can I, using the exisitng software, import from a DVD? If so, what program do I use? I have a superdrive on the iMac.

I have had Macs before but never dealt much with video.

If I need additional software to import the DVD in order to edit it and burn it, what are some names I should consider?

Also, since my digital video camera is not here yet, the live shows I have had recorded have been done on VHS and digitized on someones PC and put on DVD, which I now want to import to my iMac. What do I need to import directly from VHS tapes? I don't have access to the guys camera and I sure don't want to buy a VHS since I have a Canon XL2 coming soon, but I do have lots of footage on VHS.

Thanks

What is the difference between speakers and studio monitors?

I want to buy something for my iMac studio but do not know if I should be buying a sound surround type system, adding a sub woofer as opposed to buying two speakers/studio monitors.

Any suggestions as to what speakers/monitors I could buy if using my iMac as a studio where I plan to mix the vocals and rhythm.

Thanks
Brian
