I've been running Pro Tools 7 on my old 15" Powerbook G4, and everything worked fine. I recently switched to the new Mac Pro quad 3.0 GHz 2 GB ram, Mac OS 10.4.8- and tried to install PT 7. The installation went fine (twice), but when I try to run PT the screen greys out and says I have to resart my comp. Is this a compatibility issue with the mac pro?
Or maybe something to do with my syncing with my powerbook when I set up the mac pro?
I've been running Logic Pro 7 on my Mac Powerbook G4 (1.5 GHz, 1.25 GB RAM) for almost a year, and from the beginning I've noticed an extremely high-pitched buzz (kinda?) emanating from my comp whenever I connect to my Firepod and run Logic. Nothing adverse has happened, but I've always wondered what it is.... sometimes I think it's coming from the LCD.... can anyone shed light on this phenomenon?
Hello, I am about to unleash a few of my songs online in order to get reviews, feedback, general exposure, etc. I'll probably use sites like Garageband.com and Purevolume. Myspace claims ownership of any track I post on its server, sooo I'm a tad wary about that.
I've seen info on both Creative Commons and plain old Copyright, and I'm not sure which one would be better. I'm healthily paranoid about work I've put so much time into.... so I'm leaning toward ALL RIGHTS RESERVED BLAAAAH but I might be wrong. Help?
Hey I just upgraded to Tiger, and PT 6.4 doesn't work on this version.... Do I install 6.4 and then upgrade to 7 or do I have to buy an entire new PT 7? The Digidesign site isn't very enlightening on anything, let alone this topic...
Thanks.
I'm about to upgrade to Tiger and Protools 7 from 6.4. I record all my tracks and save all my sessions to an outboard firewire HD, and I'm wondering whether the complete change to a new OS and a new Protools version will allow me to keep working with those files. Am I being over-paranoid?
