I currently use a digital grand (4 MIDI outs, 1 MIDI in) as my main controller. From here, I run my MIDI outs to two Roland modules and a Korg Triton. I then program my various patch configurations via presets on the digital grand and call them up as needed during the night.

What I'm wanting is to use my laptop (Powerbook G4) to accomplish this and more, possibly with Logic and Live. I would also like to the ability to use soft synths, trigger loops, etc. I guess my main question is do I need a fancy piece of hardware to engineer this or can I do it with just my laptop, appropriate software, and a simple 1x1 USB MIDI interface?

Thanks in advance,
zesbez
