Since Spark LE has been discontinued, is it ethical (or legal) for someone to post his or her serial number for that software?

I've got a B&W G3, so I have to reboot to use my Pro Tools MBox--Pro Tools for OS X isn't supported on B&W's.

I'd like a good 2-track digital editor for my OS X environment, and I've been using Audacity, but if Spark LE is now available for free... I'd certainly like to experiment with it. If anyone feels good about posting a serial, then please do...

Hi, all...

I'm running Pro Tools LE on a B&W G3 300mhz. The Digidesign Mbox is my sound input device.

My problem is that, as far as I can tell, the only way to adjust input volume is manually with the Mbox's built in pre-amps.

The Mbox seems to override the computer's input gain control, or, maybe more accurately, it runs independent of the input gain control.

So... I have two questions... does anyone know how to adjust the "input" gain WITHIN the Pro Tools software?

Or... does anyone know of a third party plug-in that allows you to adjust the computer's input gain... or the Pro Tools input gain within the software?

I've got a low output mic (a Beyer Dynamic M500), and the pre-amp is just working too hard... and so I'm getting an unacceptable amount of hiss.

Need help if anyone has it to offer!

thanks!!!

I'm plugging a Beyer Dynamic M500 Limited Edition ribbon mic straight into my Mbox, and I'm not getting sufficient gain into my Pro Tools software.

I've tried increasing the gain during post-production with the "Gain" function in the AudioSuite menu, but this increases the room noise to unacceptable levels.

Can anyone recommend a solution? Maybe a good -- and QUIET -- pre-amp that can increase the gain before it gets into the Mbox?

I'm open to ALL suggestions.

thanks!!!

Anybody remember the old program titled MusicWorks???

It was around in the mid-eighties on black and white Macs...

You could write music for several different instruments, and then the program would play it for you.

I'm just wondering if there's anything like available today.

Does anyone remember the old black & white Macintosh program titled Musicworks?

I'm not a musician, so that sort of program was right up my alley. I could tinker around with notes and instruments, and produce simple songs and the like.

Are there any similar programs available today for the Mac?

I'm running OS 9.2.2.
