Musicians / Composers

I am a songwriter, in the power-pop vein. I love the lemonheads and teenage fanclub and am beginning to get my 2 albums worth of songs down using logic 7

I am tring to run Battery 2 in Logic LE 7. I have a Powerbook 1.5Ghz with 512MB RAM. I have set my laptop to Highest performance, but I keep getting Core Audio Overload messages, and when I load a kit I get a message telling me memory is getting low during loading. My system meets the recommended requirement for running the software; any ideas how I can rectify this problem?

I have a Powerbook running logic 7 LE and an m-audio firewire solo. When recording audio, I get a doubling effect whilst monitoring. I assume this is because I am hearing both the input and output signals with a small delay caused by processing time. How can I avoid this?
Also, am I going to find getting timing of recordings more accurate by monitoring the input signal, or the processed (post effects) output?

Any help would be much appreciated rolleyes.gif
