hello folks,

I'm going to buy an M-AUDIO Audiophile USB or FIREWIRE;
can someone please tell me which are the differences and which is the best?

thanks very much for your support!

Kontakt 1.5.0 for OSX 10.3.1 do not see AKAI cds in the browser when opened as a plugin into a Pro Tools 6.2.2 (it's the same with PT 6.1) track, while it is ok when opened as stand alone. It works fine and read all other audio sample formats but not AKAIs into PT. Since it does when opened as stand alone, the problem seems to be related to the host program (ProTools).
If someone has having the same trouble with Kontakt and eventually solved it, PLEASE, answer me.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

hi,

when I use Kontakt and insert an AKAI cd I can read it for one time but then OS 9.2.2 force it to expel;
is there a way to let an AKAI cd stay inserted in the mac?

in the first door I have a Superdrive, in the second a Yamaha F1.

and what about OSX for the same problem?

any help appreciated.

peace.

hi all,
I read this from Digidesign site:

Serial MIDI support removed from Mac OS X version 10.2.2 and higher by Apple. Only USB MIDI interfaces are compatible with Pro Tools systems for Mac OS X. Modem-to-serial port adapters and serial MIDI devices are not supported with Pro Tools 6.0 and Mac OS 10.2.3.

so I can say goodbye to my GeeThree Stealth Port for G4 modem-serial converter?
does anybody know why Apple has removed support for serial midi from version 10.2.2?
may we hope in having that back in future OSX upgrades?

thanks in advance

hi all!

I'd like to buy a new dual 1.25G Mac, but I have a doubt about it;
I use a 9600/450, 640MB, OS 9.1, with Digidesign d24 card and Pro Tools 5.1.3, plus Native Instruments, and for this reason I'm planning to buy a dual booting Mac 1.25G to continue using my stuff; I dont know how PT 6 manage soft synths since Direct Connect it's dead, also, when the NI synths will be available for X?
Please, if there is someone who made this upgrade, I'd need a suggestion about which mac to buy: dual booting mac or not? what I'd miss with Firewire 400 instead of 800?
my last question: do I need to install a 10k or 15k rpm hard disk inside the mac to make 32 tracks playback without problems? if yes, what accelerator card suits best?

thanks in advance
peace
