I have a TiBook with a cd-rw drive. I have only used a few cd-rws, yet inevitably I cannot re-write. I have tried using disk-utility to erase the disks, only the info says the disks are 'read only' (despite the disk showing up as 'cd-rw' on my desktop).

So I wonder, which brand (in the USA, my last failed attempt was with a TDK) is compatible with a Mac? Or, is there a cd initialization procedure I am missing?

Thanks,

Jonathan

I am about ready to buy Machinedrum (http://www.machinedrum.com/, only I have one question. Unfortunately I'm a hardware newbie and I don't have a clue how to routeMachinedrum audio into my computer. This is my basic setup:

TiPowerbook 768/867 (soon with Panther)
Oxygen 8

I want to route the Machinedrum audio into Ableton Live -- if you
could tell me of the least expensive way to do this, I would most
appreciate your help. Maybe the M-Audio Audiophile?

I realize most people seem to prefer Motu 828, only I really only want the most basic setup.

Thanks!

I have been working solely with Reason and Live (on a TiBook), and would like to expand this universe...Reaktor seemed like a good road to take, only now I see that Tassman has a very tempting offer for Reason/Reaktor users...so....any opinions?

I am still a relative newbie with Reason and Live, and I realize the learning curve will be a huge leap, but I guess what I am after, basically, is the abillity to be more 'experimental' and create more 'original', 'heavily treated' sounds (although of course Reason and Live can do this very well)....I know I should spend more time with the respective demos, but since I tend to learn slowly, I thought I might not have enough time to take advantage of the Tassman offer.....

Thanks,

Jonathan

Has anyone had Oxygen 8 running with OS10? I would be most obliged for some instruction in making this possible.

I have tried to download the relevant OMS driver from Midiman, only nothing seems to be there on my Powerbook...I suppose the 'B' stands for beta, which translates into my having to wait for them to get around to offering a real version....And yet, I thought Jaguar eliminated the need for such third party support. I cannot make heads or tails of the Audio Midi settings.

A belated thank you to Synthetic for his fine advice for hooking Oxygen 8 up with Reason in OS9. Is that my only option?

Thanks again...
