Hi

I have managed to get my hands on both Cubase SX & Ableton Live 4 ( a good friend was upgrading and he did me a good deal).

Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Which one would suit me best?

I have an emu audity 2000 which i would love to get cranked and would like to use audio samples too but at the moment dont have any way of heraring the two together. (but i do have an analogue mixer but unsure how to set it all up)

This is my first attempt at trying to make my music and although im a wiz when it comes to macs the music side of things kinda baffles me sometimes.

any ideas welcome?

cheers

Hi Everyone.
Where do I begin... I managed to get a copy of Cubase SX of a friend who is upgrading his whole set up. Its been a god send as I also have an emu audity 2000 sound module (shes a beauty). I have a mixer too that was knocking around the house and decided to try and attempt to link everything up. The mixing side of things has always baffled me and maybe I am going about things the wrong way>

A few questions:
• Do I need a soundcard for my G5, any suggestions what sorts, M-Audio, TerraTec...
• Is it worth trying to get the mixer up n running or maybe sell it and put the money to the things
I need. Its a Topaz S-Series S16-4 and its just been sitting around, only wired it up once.I was
thinking of selling it but cant imagine i'd get much for it.
• I was reading one of the topics on here and someone mentioned needing an extra harddrive. My
music is mainly midi with a few audio samples.

I treated myself last year to a new G5 but all my music making was all based around OS 9 when i use to use my imac so its all been gathering dust. Been jamming on Garageband to take away the frustration.

I want to base everything around my G5, Sound module and Cubase SX.

All feedback welcome.

Thanks for listening smile.gif

Hi Everyone.

In need of any feedback or help conserning Apple G5 and turntables and mixing n stuff?

Been mixing n stuff for as long as ive been breathing, just love music, any type any style. Love it. Period! I have a G5 and I would like to hook up my decks and record me in the mix.

What are the options (on a tight budgeot) audio interface, audio card and software to get the sounds in and recorded and sounded tight.

Any advice would be surely welcome.

I am getting a new sequencer and I am on a tight budgeot. I have narrowed it down to either Intuem or Numerology. Is there anyone out there that can shine some light on these apps. My set up consists of G5 1.6GHZ, Emu Audity2000 and a roland midi keyboard.
