I recently purchased a brand new G4 Powerbook (a very powerful one). I've recorded onto a Minidisc for a long time but i am now wanting to move into the full-band terrain. I am a multi instrumentalist and I want to record drum, guitar, and bass tracks seperately. I figured an analog cassette recorder would be the most cost-effective way to ensure enough tracks.

Do i need a special interface to get the music from my multitrack to the G4? And will it simply be a USB-conversion thing or will it convert the analog to digital? Or can the G4 do that itself?

I really have no idea where to start, and I don't want to invest in an unnecessary piece of equipment. Any help would be appreciated.

Steven
