I just got a Presonus Firepod w/ Cubase LE and I'm having several problems.
1) When I click the record enable button on a track, it doesn't stay on if I press the enable record button on a different track, does this mean it isn't on?
2) When I record something, I cannot hear it through the computer when I play it back, only through the firepod, is there a way I can change this?
3) Sometimes the sync light on the firepod turns red and the computer doesn't read it, how can I fix this?
//edit// Now I fooled around with the audio/midi settings and now Cubase won't even recognize my firepod! ahh!!!!!
btw, in case it matters I'm on a 1.6ghz G5 with 512 RAM and OS 10.3.8
Any form of help at all would really be appreciated.
Thanks
I'm thinking about getting a home studio and an extremely low budget, and I was thinking about getting the following: 1) PreSonus Firepod-$600 2) Shure SM57s (2 or more for recording amps and drums)-$89 each 3) Studio Bonus Bundle B from musiciansfriend.com- consists of MXL 990 microphone, AKG k-66 headphones, Edirol M10-DBK monitors-$200 I am also getting an iMac G5, but that will be later due to my limited budget. I am looking to record many tracks simultaneously with fairly good quality. For a beginner, does this sound like a good set-up?
I am thinking about purchasing either an Alesis Multimix 8USB or an Alesis Multimix 16USB with Cubase LE or Garageband and I was wondering if you would record 8 instruments in each channel of the mixer would it record all of the channels into one track or all channels into its own track? I read somewhere that if it is ADAT it would put them in their own tracks, but I am unsure if these are ADAT or not and I want it to be able to record 8 individual tracks. Please help. Any advice even mildly related to this topic would be helpful.
Thanks, andrew
I am thinking about getting an Alesis Multimix 8USB for recording. It comes with Cubase LE and I just had a few questions about it.
1) Can you do multitrack recording live in Cubase (like in Garageband 2 where you record multiple instruments at once onto different tracks by putting each instrument through the mixer)?
2) If you can't do that can you just record all the instruments onto one track and set volumes/eq with the mixer?
Also if anyone has any general comments about Cubase LE or the mixer, that would be cool, too.
Thanks, Andrew
