Hi guys, strange and hugely frustrating issue.
Yesterday using Setup Assistant I transferred files and documents via firewire from my ibook to my G5 powermac. Today when booting Logic Pro 7.1.1 I recieve this message - XS Key driver too old. The XS Key needs the driver 'Emagic XSKey.kext' in the folder /System/Library/Extensions.

I have downloaded the XSKey Updater, plugged the key in with an internet connection but when I run the updater I get the same message which disables any possibility of running the update. Obviously this has something to do with older files from the ibook replacing the working ones on the powermac, which is extraordinary. Can anyone help?

Hi, just tried to install an Echo Mia sound card in dual 1.8 G5 and it appears the card's plugs are in reverse configuration to the mac's pci input slots, ie. I'd have to bandg it in with a hammer. Excuse my ignorance but I assumed PCI was reasonably universal. Clearly I'm wrong. Anyone with info on the why's and wherefores of this ludicrous situation?

Hi everyone. I'm running DFH Superior in Logic 7 and slowly getting there. A question
regarding creating GM drm sets in Hyper Edit. As far as I know, if you want to custom
design a set you have to discover where all of your drums and cymbals have been
automatically assigned and change the names to their proper ones. If there's a better and
easier way I'd like to know, but if not my question is - is there a way to save these as
preset Gm drum sets? After assigning all my hits to midi controller keys, then changing
the names in Hyper Edit, I can't believe there isn't a way of keeping a set and using it in a
different project. There only seems to be the option of Create New GM Drum Set. Any
help would be wonderful.

Thanks, Glenn.

Hi, I'm running Logic 7 on a dual 1.8 pm on 10.3.5. When I load Logic with my Speedio usb interface already recognised "Core Audio Error 709" appears. I can't find the help on this error. This might be as simple as my usb interface needing to be unattached prior to booting Logic 7, as it seems to go fine then, but should I have to do this? I bought the Speedio for laptop taping, but for the time being it will have to do for a main card too.

Also, and I think this has been covered somewhere, I'm hearing way too much digital noise when monitoring both from the pm and via the interface. I have the system output on built in audio with the default output on the interface. I'm worried this may cross over to the recording. Any help?

Hi, question for anyone who's had the wonderful experience of having to find a vga extractor in order to go into the ADC in of their G5 power mac with a second (vga) monitor. I have an LCD going DVI, and a Mitsubishi Diamond View going to the ADC port via an ADC-VGA adaptor cable. After the initial disbelief at having to fork out 60 Oz bucks for a cable to use a 2nd monitor, I'm finding that the Mac is giving the vga monitor primary status, and what this means is that when I turn the computer on it boots on this monitor regardless of my contrary display preference settings. Also, for some reason it sends the vga monitor out of range, even though the preference setting was within range previously. The problem is overcome simply by turning the vga monitor off before turning the mac on. But fuck that, I can't even remember where the buttons are, and I want to leave both screens on standby etc.

I know it's largely off-audio, but until I can afford another LCD I'd appreciate some help - seems a little stupid and I'm probably just missing something.
Cheers.
