I have a firebox connected to my powerbook vić firewire. Ethernet cable connection to internet coming from wall into a modem, then into computer. Speakers hooked up to outputs on Firebox. Problem is, I'm getting a bloody TV station through my speakers at all times, even when no apps. are running. The only thing stops it is to disconnect the ethernet from the computer. I'm paying 54 smackers a month to get a clean internet signal and all the cable company (Comcast) can tell me is that if I want a repair tech to come out and test the line, I might have to pay $50 for the service call. Anyone had this problem, how did you fix it and what are the alternatives?
Just bought the latest powermac G5, 2GHz and I've got this idea to install Tiger on it and then strip it down, get rid of ALL apps, re-install all of my music software and use the machine striclty for that. Would be recording onto an external HD. My powerbook would continue to run on Panther and would handle all of my regular apps. Oh yeah, I'd leave some sytem utilities on the G5, including TechTools and DiskWarrior. No bull guys, I'm gonna do this unless someone can talk some sense into me!
Using Reaktor 5 on Cubase SL3, on a powerbook 1G RAM, 1GHz, 10.3.9. Reaktor works fine as a plugin, used on MIDI tracks. However the plugin Reaktor Fx and Fx 2x8 crashes cubase everytime I open Cubase and it starts to initialize the plugins. I have to take the plugins (Fx and Fx 2x8) out of the vst plugin folder for Cubase to even start up. Steinberg says it is Native Instruments problem. NI tech support is bad. They have an American office now and I've been trying for months to get an answer to this problem. They keep no records, don't know who I am or what my problem is from one call to the next. These plugins also crash DSP Quatro. Does anyone know about this problem and have gotten some info out of Native Instruments?
