Perhaps somebody can shed light on my problem here. I have installed a Firewire 410 on a G5 (dual processor). The interface seems to be working fine -- it is detected, and the audio is routed to it (input and output). I am trying to record an incoming SPDIF bitstream. The bitstream is correctly detected (sample rate etc.). When I look at the sound preferences menu, the sound input is displayed on the bar graph in the Apple settings.
But, despite all this, I am unable to find any program that can actually record the incoming bitstream. I have tried half a dozen programs, to no avail. Spin Doctor 2 does not even recognize the settings with Firewire 410.
I tried Audacity, Bias Peak, and a couple of freebie audio recorders.
I can playback the sound using my headphones connected to the Firewire 410, but I am unable to record the bitstream.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I just picked up an M-audio Firewire 410. I discovered that it is incompatible with Spin Doctor 2, one of the main tools that I wanted to use with it! :-(
So, be forewarned. As for the Firewire 410, I need to play with it more, but the manual and user interface are confusing, to say the least.
