Can anyone give me some tips/advice on using surround sound on Logic Audio? I use a G4 laptop (400mhz), Logic, MOTU 828 and Analogue Mixer with direct i/o on each channel (only have a stereo master bus). Q: Are ther any joystick like midi controllers for panning sounds around 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, using Logic? which aren't at crazy hollywood studio console prices?? Q: Does LAP6 offer significantly more surround sound control and functionality than LAP4 or 5? (I'm about to upgrade from LAP4.7.3x)? Q: When I create a Surround sound mix in Logic and route it out the 6-8 outputs of my MOTU828, will I still have to use a Surround Sound Bass management system or will Logic do this? If anybody can help or give pointers i would so appreciate it (the webs pritty empty on this subject). Thanks
Hi I recently purchased a G4 laptop and a Motu 828 soundcard. I am using OS9.2 and Logic Platinum 4.7.3. Using ASIO +828 at home no probs. However to my immense frustration when using just MacAv (whilst on the move without 828) Logic won't play 48khz audio via the Mac AV sound output. Does anyone know how to get round this? Logic can sample rate convert, a laborious task. Is this a destructive process, anyone know about Logics conversion process? Any ways of virtually (non-destructive) ways of reducing to 44khz, or batch covertion?
Now the suns com'n out this is drivn me crazy, let alone traveling, please help!!
Hi peoples. I Have managed to play GM sounds in Logic by using a track named: OMS objects>quicktime Music> grand piano. However it plays out MAc AV, when I have a Motu 828 set up in 'hadware setup' and playing audio files fine. Can anyone suggest how to route these quicktime sounds out of my soundcard?? - there doesnt seem to be any options for it in Hardware set up and audio plays fine..
Also I would like to access the sounds in my Midi controller keyboard too (Kawai K1). My autoload song comes up with K1 tracks and its listed with an icon in OMS set up Env page. The K1 is set up for midi (sounds off/local off), but I cant seem to access its synth sounds, can anyone give me some pointers here?? -Who ever wrote the Logic manual needs to take a crash course in being a beginner.. tanks people
Hi, I have just been setting up my system for midi (audio kidi up to now). I am using a Mac B&W G3, OS9.2, Logic 4.7.3 Gold, Motu 2408, OMS, Midisport2x2 (USB) and Kawai K1 keyboard as my midi controller. Logic Transport recieves midi, I can record visible notes, but I cant hear them, even if I import some midi demos.. I've sifted many a forum but alas no help yet, anyboday?? My autuload song comes up with K1 tracks and the GM options offer only serial ports not the USB. Can anyone help with this seemigly simple, but bastard area; How can I play the GM sounds? How can I play the K1 sounds? And any one want to trade a S2000 for EXs24..
I have installed OMS 2.3.8 and latest Midisport (2x2) updates onto my B&W G3 with Logic Gold 4.7.3 and OS9.2. In OMS new studio set up, search for devices does not show Midisport. Yet the driver is in the extensions and the device recognised on system profiler. Any one got any suggestions. Also I have the midisport connected to the midi IN&OUT of a Kawai KI keyboard. The midisport in LED flashes rapidly and USB pulses, is this normal? Is it essential to turn the sound off on the keyboard to use midi (can't find how to do this on the Kawai)?
If any body has done this I would sure appreciate some advice, midi is new to me.
