hey all, new to the forums here. need some help/advise if possible.

I have two setups at home now. (see below)

1ghz pc running winxp with aardvark 24/96 running logic plat 5.5
apple ibook 700 running OSX 10.2.8 with aardvark USB3 audio running logic plat 5.4

My issue is with my ibook. well with the new midi device i just got.
I have a midi in and out on the pc side, and have been able to trigger my
dr-770 using midi.

I am trying to do the same thing with my laptop. I just bought an MAUDIO uno midi device. (USB)
I set everything up correctly, according to the guys at maudio, and osx sees the device (in the audio midi setup program) but logic won't record the midi info.

what i am noticing is, if i plug up the device with logic open, it tells me i have midi (you have midi ports open or something) and if i unplug it, i am told i have 0 midi ports. but the transport bar doesn't show any midi activity. (no in and no out) no activity with trying to use device with drum machine.

I have tried to set everything up just how i remember it on the pc side. here is what i am seeing.
I remember that in the environment in logic, i have to wire everything up to get it workig. (for the midi)
on the pc side, when i got the midi working right, it have an option for "midi interface" in the "new" menu on
the environment window. however, i cannot get that to show up on the mac side and therefore cannot get the
midi setup wired in the environment. (please note i am still a beginner in logic)

so to recap,

midi device appears to be seen by logic. (logic notices when its removed or plugged in)
no "midi interface" option in "new" menu of environment window. (under midi, global, or click n ports)
no apparent midi traffic according to device or transport bar
no midi in or out according to transport bar

again, i have all this working on the pc side. but cannot get it working in osx.
note: when i went into the audio midi setup tool under midi, and created a new device (add device) the manufacture list and model list is empty. i was told this should be populated.

any help would be appreviated
thanks, graej
