Hi,

Thanks in advance for any help!

I recently bought an Mbox to connect to my TiBook 667/30G/512RAM with Pro Tools 6 & OS X.
I had been using a Tascam Portastudio 424 mkII cassette multitrack.

1) Is there a way to connect my 424 (via the Mbox?) to use it as an external mixer with Pro Tolls 6? If so, is there even any benefit to doing that?

2) I also have a BBE264R sonic maximizer, a Korg DDD-1 drum amchine, and a Yamaha REV100 digital reverberator effects unit. Can I make effective of use of these units in the digital realm? If so, how would I connect them...?
I'm recording acoustic/elec. guitar, vocals, harmonica, some basic keyboard.

Thanks!

Hi,

I just received the Pro Tools 6.0 for Mac OS X this morning and am trying to install it (I have a Powerbook G4 Titanium 667 mhz with 512MB Ram and an Mbox).

After installing the software from the CD, I try to load Pro Tools 6.0 but I get an error message "Unable to create DAE deck." Then PT just quits. My system doesn't freeze-up or anything, just the PT stops loading. I have not installed any of the included Plug-ins. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. Also, I've tried re-booting after install.

Any helpful suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time!

Does anyone have any suggestions for sound cards for the Powerbook Titanium G4?  I just got a 667mhz G4 with half a gig of RAM.  I have not  yet decided on which software to buy, and I don't know what hardware I need to add to the Titanium Powerbook.  I want to spend about $500, or thereabouts.  I plan on recording at home with acoustic guitar, electrtic guitar, vocals, and maybe add some didgital drum tracks.  I have some experience witha Tascam 4-track, but want to use the Powerbooks as my main recording station.  Any suggestions? Thanks.
