I've recently bought Logic Pro 7 (woo hoo!) and I now need to upgrade my imac, which is currently running OS 10.2.8, to Panther or Tiger, and I also need to upgrade my RAM from 256 to 512. But it looks like this gonna cost about £200 from the Apple shop. So my question is: is there a cheaper way? Can I get these things second-hand? Are ther disadvantages?

Thanks a lot.

Hi folks. i'm an absolute beginner, with an imac 800 running os10.2.8. i have cubase sx 1.0.51, and an old novation bass-station which i intend to use as a MIDI controller. but i have no way to attach the synth to my computer. presumably i need a MIDI interface of some kind. any ideas what i should go for and where i can get it from (2nd hand preferably)? i hear that it's tricky to upgrade an imac's soundcard, so i guess i need some external equip. will my default soundcard be up to cubase standard?

do i need anything else? thanks very much biggrin.gif
