Have Mackie 24/8/2 desk attached to PowerMac running Logic Pro 7. I want to record each of 6 drum mics to separate tracks. How?

Cheers

Need to import sound fx into Logic from CD but only seem to be able to view them from the CD as iTunes files (sorry, I'm away from my mac at the moment! is that AAC file format ?), so can't get them recognised to load into program (aif files I've produced load easy!). I am but a simpleton, I know, so could someone state the obvious so that I can thump my forehead in mock (?) exasperation?
Have tried with Powerbook G4 (logic pro 6) and with iMac G5 (pro 7) without success. I know I have to take the audio onto my harddrive before I import it into Logic, but HOW??

Cheers,

A thick music teacher.

Newby to Logic Pro 6 but trying to transfer MIDI file from Cubase to Logic. Want to use audio instruments for existing parts but drums written in MIDI format won't play properly in EXS24 using drum voices. Suggestions?

I'm a music teacher in the UK where PC is king. I've worked with PCs for years but have been given the opportunity to switch to macs (e-macs, i-books and powerbooks). I teach ages 11-19 and whilst I am familiar with cubase, sibelius, reason et al which are available for sequencing/recording, I'm looking to add educational music software to my department's options. I've used Music Ace etc for PC and found them reasonable, but what is available and useful for teachers? Any ideas / experiences?

Thanks
