I've had a real bad run over the last year with audio. It all started when I was ill advised that Edirol's UA-1D SP/DIF USB audio capture interface would work between my Yamaha 01V digital desk and G4 933MHz. It didn't, I knew there was something up and it wasn't compatable i.e. no wordclock and proved to my supplier so. Anyhow, I bought Logic Gold 5 to go along with this which was outdated for fresh install on OSX Jaguar by the time I proved the incompatability. The company who sold me this interface suggested I select something else, I have, the Edirol UA-1X, I'm experiencing bad sound hopping and noise on the recordings via standard audio devices such as CD/ DAT direct and also from the desk. The manual suggests 'The noise should not be in the recording itself. Such noise should only be found in the playback signal'. Am I really reading this comment, if so, could someone with any actual tips or resolve get in touch as I've totally lost faith in Mac/ audio recording and Edirol. I've tried all the suggestions i.e. direct Mac USB connection etc and even someone elses Mac with identical results. All the USB audio codec configurations have been made and on software (Peak), I've also been driven to a forum on the basis that I've had no support email reply from a similar mail to Edirol UK. I'm on the brink of trading the Mac and anything Edirol for a detuned 8 button Acadian accordion if there is no more hope.

Regards,

Scott
