I recently bought a new studio setup

Mac G5 (dual) running OSX 10.2.7
Logic Platinum 6.3.2
Motu 828mkII
midiman 8x8
Mackie Control Universal V2.1

Now my Xmas reading has been manuals so I haven't actually recorded anything on logic yet but looking forward to it. I do a lot of tv stuff until now on a VS1680 setup so this should be easier.

However, I can't seem to get the Mackie control to work with logic and wondered if anyone might be able to offer any suggestions.

I have it connected as follws:
828 firewired to G5
midiman USB to G5
Mackie (set to Logic control) midi'd to midiman

Now for some reason if I touch a button on the Mackie I get a synth note from Logic!
I got it to work for a brief moment then it died on me. I've tried Mackie tech support and they couldn't help really. Logic just can't seem to recognize the Mackie.

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Steve
