I'm a new user (started with Logic 6 Big Box, an old Yamaha keyboard that I use as a MIDI controller and a Tascam US-122 interface) who decided to trade up to Logic Pro 7. First step was to upgrade to Panther. After doing so - I could not get any sound out of my old Logic 6 songs. I just get the error message with something about not being able to synchronize audi and MIDI tracks. It looks like Logic may not be communicating with my keyboard.
Somebody told me I need to update "the drivers." I tried updating the US-122 drivers, but still no sound. Logic seems to recognize the US-122 (it shows up in the audio preferences menu). Did Panther do something to my settings that I need to restore or do I need to reset something else. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I did not find anything about this using the search function. Thanks for any help you can provide.
I have postponed my Logic Pro upgrade until I figure out what happened to my Logic 6 which was working just fine before Panther came along.
I am a new Logic user (bought the Big Box last year) and overall have been very happy with the way Logic has helped me record my music.
I have been a bit frustrated by drum sounds however. I was looking for a fun and relatively easy (easier than pounding out the beats on my keyboard) way to add neat beats to my songs.
I tried an old Roland drum machine, but felt it was too complicated for what I wanted.
I then looked at Groove Agent but heard many horror stories about how it does not play well with Logic. I tried iDrum, which looked to be perfect, but I cannot get Logic to recognize it. I have not been able to find anyone at Glaresoft or Apple who can help me.
Can I make drums sounds in GarageBand that are usable in Logic? What is the quality of these sounds?
My musical style is classic rock/folk rock. I thought about Specrasonic's Stylus product, but it seems a bit dance oriented and maybe a bit pricey for my needs.
Anything else I am missing? Does anyone have any ideas for me.
Many thanks for your help and consideration.
I am a newbie and have been learning Logic (I bought the Big Box and Logic 6). I attend the Apple Store (in NYC) Logic training classes from time to time and the other day learned how to create an Autoload. Well, I created a new Autoload with a couple of the software instruments as part of Autoload. All of a sudden I noticed that the little red "R" on the Midi tracks was missing. The "R" (for recording) is still there on the audio tracks. I must have changed the template somehow, but I could not find a way to undo this. Can anyone help me get back my little red "R?"
The Midi tracks cannot record as it is set up now. I did not change the interface at all (I'm using a Tascam US-122 and an old Yamaha keyboard). Even songs I recorded previously are now missing the "R" button on the Midi tracks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am new to the Apple platform and am using a G4 Powerbook and Logic Audio. I have recorded a number of songs and seem to be getting the hang of using the software. I am using a Tascam US-122 as my interface and an old Yamaha keyboard as my MIDI controller. I record a lot of audio (vocals and acoustic guitar) and really enjoyed the software. My daughter wanted me to make a CD of her singing the "Star Spangled Banner" (it's a long story) and I recorded her without a hitch. Then I realized I had no idea how to take this recording (or any of the others I have made) and put it down on a CD. I checked the Logic manual and another guide book, but could not find any help. Am I missing something fundamental here? Or is there an easy trick to "export" (if that's the right word) a song to a CD?
Thank you for any help you can give me.
