I'm new to Ableton Live 4.01 and I've been experimenting with it, but there's a feature that I'm sure must exist, but I just can't figure it out... If I have, say sequence 1 and 2 that follow eachother in that order within Live and I decide during a live performance to loop sequence 1. I noticed that the reading 'head' does not stop at the end of the looped sequence 1, so that when I deactivate the loop it, playback is NOT resumed at the beginning of sequence 2, instead, the head keeps moving in the background and when the loop is paused, I'll find it playing somewhere in the middle of sequence 2, for example. I must be able to setup somewhere to tell the application I want the playback head to resume playing at the beginning of the next chosen sequence when the precedding loop is deactivated, otherwise this function makes no sense. Typically, you'd want that after a looped section the song continues at the beginning of the following part, not at a random position. Can someone tell me how, please? Rgds, Atahualpa
Just bought a Mackie Control second hand, which originally was a Logic Control, but the firmware to convert it to a Universal Control has been implemented by the original owner. I have no previous experience whatsoever with such control surfaces, so I plugged it yesterday midi in/out into my 4x4 M Audio midi interface, turned it on, having previously configured it from the Midi-Audio Setup menu in Digital Performer 4.52. Whenever I move the faders on the console, the led on the midi interface lights up, meaning it's being detected, but I was expecting the faders to automatically match the position of the virtual faders in the mixer screen of DP when I open a project or being able to start/stop playback using the relevant buttons on the Mackie, which is not at all the case now. I thought this Mackie Control issue would be a quite straightforward plug&play procedure, but it seems I was wrong... Any suggestions of what I might be not doing right or still need to do to make it work? Thanx, A.
Does anybody know if there's a software that can be used as a pluggin on dp4.52 to be used as an effect on vocals in the same manner as fruity loops on a pc? Thnx, Atahaualpa
Hi, Does anyone know of a software allowing to extract vocals from a CD song for example, that runs on OSX? Rgds, Atahualpa
I have exactly the same software configuration running on my portable G4 Powerbook 1GHz, 750Mb RAM and on my iMAC G5 1.8GHz and 2Gb RAM, which is: OSX Panther 10.3.7, DigitalPerformer 4.52 with SonikSynth2 Plug In. On the G5 SonikSynth works perfectly, but if I take files done on it to the Powerbook, the SS2 sound files are not found. Actually even, when opening SonikSynth in the PowerBook, no instruments appear on the list at the right upper corner, as if I hadn't installed the virtual synths that come in the DVDs. The SS2 interface however, is recognized... Has anyone experience with SS2 and can maybe advice? Could I be missing some file on my PowerBook that is installed on the G5? (although I installed both exactly in the same manner) Thanx and regards, Atahualpa
